RemoteApp Load Balance without installing App twice?

We have an existing 2012 R2 Std server operating as our RemoteApp server (RDS1).  It works well.

One of our goals was to set up a second RDS server (RDS2) for load-balancing.  The consultant that sold us this setup recently got the Connection-Broker working, and the servers appear to load-balance.  (We can at least confirm that 50% of Remote Desktop sessions go to RDS2, when it is in the connection pool.)

However, we are now being told that the application has to be installed on both servers.

Our RemoteApp is a monster, with lots of files & folders all over RDS1's hard disk.  The thought of trying to duplicate that, let alone keep it sync'd....

So, my question is:  is there a way to configure RDS so that our RemoteApp can be load-balanced, but not have to keep a complete duplicate of the application and all its files/settings on RDS2 ?

Thanks
