I have a user with a Windows 10 laptop. They can RDP successfully various Windows 7 machines. But when they RDP to my Windows 2012 server, they get the black screen.
I've done lots of searching/reading, but can't find a solution yet. So far I've
- Updated both machines, fully patched.
- Tried reboots
- Confirmed the user's account is fine. From my windows 10 laptop they can RDP to same windows server.
- Tried all the flavors of RDP client changes (disable bitmap caching, lower the experience settings, disable all local resources, etc)
- Disabled local AV
So in summary, it's something about these two machines. His laptop can RDP to other stuff, just not Windows 2012 servers. And from my laptop (also Windows 10), his same account can log in successfully to those same Windows 2012 servers.
Any idea where else to look?
