Black Screen (audiosrv service timeout 7011)

Hello,

I have some trouble with all terminal servers since a few weeks. On some days users report a black screen (e.g. when they try to lock their session with keyboard shortcut "Windows+L"). When I try to connect via rdp to that specific server I also only get a black screen (seeing no login-messages). Same when trying to use the vm-console of this vm on esx server.

Some users that are not completely affected experience some applications to hang.

In eventvwr I can find error 7011 of service control manager (Timeout (120000ms) while waiting for answer of audiosrv) since short before the first users call.

It seems the server can not be used anymore until you reboot the machine or stop/restart the windows audio service (when I stop the service I have to wait about 5-10 minutes and I can login as usual).

Searching the web I found similar problems on other windows versions. But found no solution for server 2012 (not R2) yet... :/

(Background: We did windows updates, updated citrix environment, etc. We are not sure when this error occured the first time.)

Hope you can help. It happens nearly every day and users are getting angry.
