Hello everybody.
I've strange problem since few months with RDS and Windows Server 2019 STD.
First point: in Windows Server 2016 Standard (same configuration as below) I've never had this problem.
Server Windows 2019 Standard (both in physical than in virtual - on vSphere ESXi).
It's the only server in the customer's LAN. I need to install RDS role, so before I've installed AD and DNS role.
After RDS, reboot and everything as usually.
Clients can be: Windows 7, Windows 10, Mac OS, the same Windows 2019 Server Console (using localhost as destination). Any client one of them is connected to domain (is in WORKGROUP).
Every few days during the day (any specific day or hour) ALL of the clients can't connect to RDS server.
The server ask me the credential, but after the connection hangs on "Securing remote connection" or "Loading virtual machine"...
In that situation I've tryed to: disable Windows firewall, disable antivirus and other tests, without any good results. The 3389 port (from netstat) is opened and the services are started. I've tryed to stop and restart Remote Desktop Services (TermService), but it can't stop the service.
Tonight I've tryed to go in Network Connection to check tcp/ip parameter (correct for sure), but the window "network connection centre" hangs when I click on "Modify network settings"
The only solution is to reboot the server and... in the reboot the server hangs on "rebooting server" and so I've topower off the physical or virtual server.
In Windows 2016 Server I've never had this problem (installed more the 50 server with the same configuration and settings)
Thanks
Luca
