Hello, I have a PC with Windows 7 x64 connected to an Epson TM-U950 POS printer. The printer works correctly when printing locally but the text is very hard to read when printing through Remote Desktop (the characters are missing some parts). I'm connecting
to a server running Windows Server 2012 that has the Remote Desktop Services role installed. I installed the printer driver on the server and changed the group policies (as described here asithadesilva.wordpress.com/tag/disable-terminal-server-easy-print/) to
make the server use the printer driver instead of the Easy Print driver, but when I connect the printer is still redirected using Easy Print. The same thing happens when I connect to a computer running Windows 7 x64 using remote desktop. I even tried uninstalling
the Easy Print driver but then the printer is not redirected at all.
It also happens when I connect to a server running Windows Server 2008 x64. In this case the server logs an event ID 1111 with the message 'Driver EPSON TM-U950 ReceiptE4 required for printer EPSON TM-U950 Receipt is unknown'. I know the drivers are installed because if I share the printer from the client PC the server prints fine.
The funny part is that when I connect to a server running Windows Server 2003 x32 the printer is redirected fine using the printer driver and it works correctly.
How can I force Windows Server 2012 to use the printer driver instead of Easy Print?
