I work in a corporate of about 1500+ users and currently we are working on migrating to Windows 2008 Server and i have a concern about TS licenses ..
we currently have our domain controller's functional level and the forest functional level at "Windows Server 2003" and we plan to add an additional DC that runs server 2008 R2 then after running the "adprep /forestprep" we move the FSMO roles to the windows server 2008 and KEEP the functional level at "Windows Server 2003" for a fair amount of time before moving upping to the 2008 functional level .. and i learned that we will need to purchase a new RDS licenses if we are moving directly to the "Windows Server 2008" functional level,
is it possible to keep the Terminal service server running on windows server 2003 inside the Server 2008 merged schema while running on Functional level "Windows server 2003" and peacefully work with our current license until we effectively move to the Server 2008 functional level????
