We have an application that runs on a remote desktop. Most of the time everything is fine. Yet sometimes when a user clicks the application they get a message to the effect that I:\somehwere\myapp.exe is not a valid Windows application. No matter how many times they try they always get the same message. The fix for this so far has been to reboot the server which runs terminal services (Server 2008, 32-bit). After the reboot things may be fine for a day or a week. I should also mention that any other users already running this application are fine and experience no problems.
I figure that most likley this error is not caused by a corruption of the file on disk on this server. It is being run from a network drive, not a local disk.
I've considered network issues, but since all other users are fine that does not seem real likely.
I'm also thinking about AV software which is scanning network drives. (Symantec EP 12.1.2) Could the latter be the issue?
