I have one issue i haven't managed to fix. Hopefully, you can shed some light on it.
I built Remote Desktop Service with 3 servers, which must be accessible from two different companies. Therefore i have all 3 machines with two network interfaces and two different network IP addresses.
Server 1: Broker/Gateway/Webaccess
Nic1: 172.28.1.70 Mask 255.255.255.0 Gateway 172.28.1.254
Nic2: 145.6.73.110 Mask 255.255.255.224 Gateway 145.6.73.97
Server 2: Session host 1
Nic1: 172.28.1.71 Mask 255.255.255.0 Gateway 172.28.1.254
Nic2: 145.6.73.111 Mask 255.255.255.224 Gateway 145.6.73.97
Server 3: Session host 2
Nic1: 172.28.1.72 Mask 255.255.255.0 Gateway 172.28.1.254
Nic2: 145.6.73.112 Mask 255.255.255.224 Gateway 145.6.73.97
Between two different companies, i have one way cross domain trust (-> 145.0.0.0 to 172.0.0.0)
From company 1 (145.0.0.0)
DNS resolves broker.domain.com as 145.6.73.110 (same with webaccess.domain.com and gw.domain.com)
From company 2 (172.0.0.0)
DNS resolves broker.domain.com as 172.28.1.70 (same with webaccess.domain.com and gw.domain.com)
Problem: The problem is that, occasionally users couldn't connect to session host. From the logs, it looks like sometimes, when user is connecting from 145.0.0.0 network broker will send them to 172.28.1.71/72 not to 145.6.73.111/112.
It is clearly network routing issue, i guess. So, i removed company 1 gateway from the network interface and made manual routings to Broker
0.0.0.0 mask 0.0.0.0 > gateway 172.28.1.254 (default)
172.28.0.0 mask 255.255.0.0 > gateway: 172.28.1.254
145.0.0.0 mask 255.0.0.0 > gateway: 145.6.73.97
I did same routings to session host also but i did not work as expected - the issue remains.
Can it be done? is it possible to have two different connections in RDS farm?
